Real estate securities

Details of the 2008 education programme managed by the University of Reading on behalf of CoreNet Global in the UK will be available shortly and will include a new module, Real Estate Securities, to enable students to:

• Understand what differentiates direct and indirect investment in real estate markets.
• Identify and analyse several real estate securities and their use in the context of portfolio management.
• Define how such securities are structured and their current growth in international markets.
• Understand the different risk/return profiles offered by indirect investment.
• Master financial principles and apply them to price several vehicles.
• Understand concepts of market efficiency and be able to analyse the impact of real estate market inefficiencies in pricing models.

Students can choose to take selected modules as a short course leading to a University of Reading postgraduate certificate and the CoreNet Global MCR award, or add a further module to attain a postgraduate diploma, or undertake all the modules to attain a full MSc.
