CoreNet Global Learning

Learning opportunities provided by CoreNet Global are uniquely structured to give access to knowledge and support our members’ professional and personal development through programmes delivered locally and globally.

The global programmes are:-

The Executive Development Program (EDP) is an interactive seminar based format delivered by experienced industry professionals who are industry leaders in their topics. The two main series of seminars are the Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) and the Senior Leader of Corporate Real Estate.

The MCR Professional Development Series is currently available in Europe and addresses the effective management of CRE functions from a strategic perspective that focuses on the mission of the CRE organisation in relation to corporate goals. It is valuable for those at the mid-management level in CRE and those positioning themselves for mid-management level, including service providers.

The Series has a strong financial component, which emphasises the critical need for understanding corporate real estate’s linkage to the corporate bottom line. Strategic approaches in portfolio management, aligning real estate to business strategy, outsourcing and partnering, technology and workplace strategy are included in the Series.

The local UK Chapter programmes are:-

The University of Reading offers a very highly rated MSc in Corporate Real Estate. Its format is a ‘blend’ of individual study and seminars which are accessible individually or as a complete course of topic based modules. Students who complete three of these modules become eligible for the MCR designation awarded by CoreNet Global.

CoRE Workshops is a series of seminars on critical CRE skills that has been developed from EDP or other longer seminars and distils the key learning points into two to four hour learning sessions delivered to Chapters around the world. A programme of three CoRE Curriculum classes will be available in the UK in 2008. Their aim is to provide an overview of a topic to a level that will give an appreciation of its key points or help identify the focus for further learning activity, such as EDP, if more in-depth knowledge would be helpful for personal or professional development.

4i
The 4i Forum has been created to develop breakthrough ideas and to encourage strategic thinking and entrepreneurial behaviour within the CRE function. Executives will link their CRE role with their organisation’s business objectives to add increased value and enable greater involvement and credibility.

The 4i Forums are a series of hard hitting, subject connected one-day seminars. The membership is self- steering in terms of topics and responsibility for learning outcomes These events offer an opportunity for connected interest groups to challenge themselves to deal with real business issues and work through them to successful conclusions.
